Alex Babos was an integral part of Derby County’s Under-23s during the 2017/18 season that saw the Rams retain their Premier League 2 Division 1 status.
In his second year as a professional, the 20-year old stepped up as captain in the October meeting with Liverpool, in which he scored the second goal in the 2-0 victory.
He went on to captain the majority of games for the rest of the season, adding another goal in a 3-3 draw with Arsenal as well as leading the team with eight assists.
During the 2016/17 season, the attacking midfielder delivered a number of action-packed displays over the campaign as he scored three goals in 21 outings for Darren Wassall’s side.
That came after Babos crowned a personally strong scholarship with the Rams by signing a two-and-a-half year professional contract in March 2016.
Babos spent the first part of this season on loan at Real Union and has represented Wales’ national side at Under-21s level during their attempts to qualify for the 2019 Under-21s’ European Championships.
