Jamie Hanson worked his way back into the Derby County first team fold last season, and he signed a new two-year contract with the club in April.
His first appearance of the campaign belatedly came as a substitute in the East Midlands derby against Nottingham Forest in March, after injuries restricted him to Under-23s action for most of the year.
Hanson broke onto the scene in stunning style in 2015, with a goal direct from a corner on his debut against Norwich City at Carrow Road.
That appearance completed Hanson’s 10-year journey through the Academy, which saw him progress as from being schoolboy level right the way through to fulfilling his childhood dream.
A holding midfielder who can also play in defence if required, Hanson possesses impressive dead-ball technique, which saw him score a number of direct free-kicks at youth level.
