Marcus Olsson suffered a cruel end to the 2017/18 season, as injury curtailed his campaign just as he began to nail down a place in the side.
The switch to a three-man defence seemed to suit Olsson, as he was able to push further up the pitch into a wing-back role, where he started three of the last four games of the regular league season.
Unfortunately, a serious knee injury suffered against Barnsley on the final day ruled him out of the play-off showdown with Fulham, and he will be fighting hard to return at some point during the 2018/19 season.
Like his twin brother Martin at Swansea City, Marcus boasts top flight and international experience.
He joined Blackburn, then in the Premier League, on a free transfer in January 2012 after he turned down a new contract at Swedish top-flight side Halmstads, having initially played for Hogaborgs at youth level.
He linked up with Martin at Ewood Park and made 12 appearances in the second half of the 2011/12 season.
Olsson remained part of the Blackburn squad in the Championship from the 2012/13 campaign onwards and he was voted as their Player of the Year for the 2014/15 season, after making 45 appearances in all competitions.
Born in Gävle, Sweden, Olsson has made two full appearances at full international level for his country, both in 2012, against Bahrain and Qatar.
