Mason Mount became one of Frank Lampard’s first signings as the manager of Derby County as he arrived from Chelsea in July 2018 on a season-long loan deal.

The midfielder, who is in his debut season in English senior football, was previously on loan with Dutch Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem.

During the 2017/18 season, he scored 14 goals and recorded nine assists throughout the campaign, with the highlight coming when Mount scored his first career hat-trick in a 5-2 victory against ADO Den Haag in the UEFA Europa League play-off semi-final.

Mount, who operates in midfield, opened his Derby County account on his debut in the opening day victory over Reading.

Goals in the Carabao Cup against Oldham Athletic and in the league against Preston North End followed as his glowing-reputation continued to grow.

The 19-year-old became the first outfield player since Seth Johnson in 2001 to receive a call up to the England national squad in October 2018. He was an unused substitute in the games against Croatia and Spain in the UEFA Nations League.
