Derby County are waiting to discover the extent of striker Jamie Ward’s hamstring injury.
The Rams’ top goalscorer this season, with 11 goals to his name, picked up the problem in the first half of last Friday’s 1-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace at Pride Park Stadium.
Ward, who missed three months of the season between September and December with a similar hamstring injury, is due to undergo an MRI later today on his injury.
Manager Nigel Clough said: “Jamie felt his hamstring in the game so as soon as he did that, we decided it was best to get him off as a precautionary measure.
“Hopefully it won’t be too bad, but we’ll have to wait and see.
“He’s been in great form lately and when he was out for 17 games earlier in the season we certainly missed him, so we really do hope it isn’t a serious one.”
Ward’s 11 goals have come in 19 outings for Derby this season, and he has scored each of their last three Championship goals.
