Derby County will begin their 2026/27 pre-season preparations with a friendly match against local non-league side Alfreton Town.

John Eustace’s Rams side shall head to Alfreton’s Solana Stadium on Friday 17th July (7pm kick-off).
Alfreton, who will compete in the Northern Premier League Premier Division in the 2026/27 campaign – Step 3 of the non-league pyramid – are managed by former Derby centre-back, Academy and Senior Transition Coach Jake Buxton.
The Rams last faced the local non-league outfit in a pre-season contest ahead of the 2022/23 Sky Bet League One campaign.
The friendly will be played the day before Derby head out for their week-long overseas pre-season training camp in Austria.
Further pre-season plans, fixture arrangements and ticket details for this friendly will be communicated with supporters in due course.
