Watch Derby County's newly-formed Under 21 team at Pride PArk on Bank Holiday Monday.

Derby County’s Under 21s will take in their first home game of the 2012-13 season on Bank Holiday Monday (27th August 2012), with a local derby against Leicester City at Pride Park Stadium.

The game will kick off at 1pm on Monday and supporters in attendance will be housed in the West Stand Lower at Pride Park.

Admission prices have been set at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions, and fans can gain entry to the stadium through the Digonex Ticket Office - which will be open from 10am to 4pm on Monday.

As Derby have applied for Category 2 Academy status in the newly-introduced Elite Player Performance Plan, they will play their Under 21 games in Professional Development League 2 – North this season.

Home games are to be played at Moor Farm Training Ground, although rules state two matches must be played at each clubs’ individual home stadium – and the visit of the Foxes is one of Derby’s selected games.

The creation of a new Under 21 competition has been brought into play to bridge the gap between clubs' academies and their first team. The emphasis will be on playing Under 21 players, with each team limited to three overage outfield players and one overage goalkeeper.

Derby kicked off their Under 21 campaign with a 2-2 draw at Leeds United, despite leading 2-0 early on thanks to goals from Michael Jacobs and Theo Robinson.
