Match Report

Derby County Under-18s claimed their first win of the 2025/26 Premier League - North season with a 2-1 success at Burnley.

A pair of goals from Marley Mintus fired Bradley Johnson’s side to victory over the Clarets, who the Under-18s defeated by the same scoreline at Moor Farm Training Ground in the Premier League Cup last month.

The success came despite the Rams playing for more than an hour of the contest with ten men following striker Charles Ebuka Agbawodikeizu’s red card before the half-hour mark.

Ebuka Agbawodikeizu missed an early penalty for the Rams, but they took the lead after nine minutes through midfielder Mintus as he opened his goalscoring account for the season.

Mintus went on to double Derby’s lead at the halfway point of the first half to put the side in a strong position.

However, the Rams were reduced to ten men a few minutes later when striker Ebuka Agbawodikeizu was sent off.

Derby held on for the rest of the first half to go in at the break two goals to the good, but the home side got a goal back nine minutes into the second period through Braidin Derbyshire’s penalty.

The Rams dug deep in the final half an hour to see themselves over the line to claim the three points.
