Bryson Keen To Finish On A High Note

Midfielder wants Rams to finish the 2012/13 campaign in style

Scottish midfielder Craig Bryson says the Rams are desperate to end their League campaign on a high note, and there will be no ‘let-up’ on Saturday.

The Rams are one of a small number of teams in the npower Championship that cannot be involved in either the race for the Play-Off places or the relegation fight, whilst a defeat for Millwall combined with victories for Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley and Peterborough could inflict relegation on the Lions.

However, Bryson is adamant there will be no let-up, as the Rams begin their preparations for the summer, and the 26-year-old has called on his team-mates to ensure they produce a strong finish in their last game of the season on Saturday.

He said: “We have enjoyed playing at home all season and in our final game at Pride Park of 2012/13, we want to end the campaign well in front of our supporters.

“As a whole, we are pleased with how we have performed this season, although we are disappointed to be going into the final day without something riding on the game in terms of a top-six finish.

“Unfortunately, results over the course of the season away from home have cost us, although we are keen to finish strongly and help attract the right calibre of playing going into the summer, as well as giving our supporters, who have been fantastic, something to cheer about.

“If we can win the final game it will have the fans going into the summer in a good mood, and hopefully, they will then all - like ourselves, look ahead at the new campaign full of optimism.”

Despite suffering from knee and groin injuries during the 2012/13 campaign, Bryson has made 38 appearances for the Rams, scoring five times in the process – with his last goal coming in the side’s previous home fixture, a 3-1 victory over Peterborough United.
