Simon Dawkins Nets First International Goal For Jamaica

Derby forward scores maiden international goal in draw with Egypt.

Derby County forward Simon Dawkins registered his first ever international goal last night, as he starred in Jamaica's 2-2 draw with Egypt at Leyton Orient's Matchroom Stadium.

Dawkins was named in the starting line-up, earning his third international cap for the 'Reggae Boyz', prior to netting shortly before the half-an-hour mark when he skilfully back-heeled Chris Humphrey's ring-wing cross into the net.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player was replaced in the 84th minute by Norwich City forward Jamar Loza, in what was his third outing for the 'Reggae Boyz' following appearances against Serbia and Switzerland in the USA.

Dawkins, who made 30 appearances for the Rams and scored on four occasions in the 2013/14 season, is expected to feature in Jamaica’s next friendly game against and France on Sunday (June 8).
