Derby County forward Simon Dawkins has joined Major League Soccer side San Jose Earthquakes.
The 28-year-old Jamaica international has made the move to San Jose, who he played for in the 2011 and 2012 MLS seasons, on a permanent basis - with details of the deal remaining undisclosed.
Dawkins joined Derby from Barclays Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in October 2013, initially on loan, before sealing a permanent move at the start of 2014.
He had found first-team opportunities limited this season and made just one appearance, starting the Capital One Cup First Round tie at Portsmouth in August.
In total he made 73 appearances for in a Rams shirt and scored nine goals.
Head Coach Paul Clement said: “We wish Simon, who was a popular member of the dressing room, every success at San Jose Earthquakes.
“The last six months have been difficult and challenging for him because of his lack of match football.
“He handled that situation well - it would have been easy to down tools, reduce his effort and possibly be disruptive.
“Instead, he was professional, respectful and hardworking and he dealt with the disappointment with class and he is an example to us all.”
