Striker Offrande Zanzala has returned to Derby County following the conclusion of his loan spell at Sky Bet League 2 side Stevenage.

The 19-year-old linked up with Stevenage at the end of January and made an impressive professional debut in their 0-0 draw at home to Barnet.

He picked up a shoulder injury which limited him to one further appearance, off the bench in a 1-0 home defeat to Crawley.

Head Coach Darren Wassall said: “Offrande can take a great deal of experience from his time at Stevenage, although it didn’t work out as planned there after Teddy Sheringham left not long after signing him.

“Now he’s back with us we hope that he can carry on where he left off with the Under 21s.”

Zanzala signed professional terms in March last year and has impressed for Derby’s Under 21 side this season.

The Academy graduate was named as the Barclays Under 21 Premier League Player of the Month for October, after scoring four goals in three games.

Zanzala hails from Democratic Republic of the Congo but moved to Europe as a young child. He arrived in England at the age of eight before he joined the Rams as a schoolboy when he was 12.

Since then he has flourished in Derby’s Academy and, as well as developing his game, he has found the back of the net on a regular basis.
