Derby County’s Under-18s tasted defeat in the Under-18 Premier League - North on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 reverse at Sunderland.

Adam Robinson’s side made the trip to the North East looking to build on their impressive 3-1 victory at Liverpool in midweek.

But they were unable to make it two wins in a row as they fell to defeat against the Black Cats.

Sonny Singh opened the scoring after just 11 minutes for the home side to put the Rams on the back foot.

Caden Kelly doubled Sunderland’s lead just after half-time to give Derby an uphill battle to pick up something for their efforts.

The hosts rounded off the scoring late on as Ben Middlemas struck to end any hopes of a late Rams comeback.

After back-to-back away matches, the Under-18s are back at Moor Farm Training Ground against Manchester City on Saturday 2nd October (12:30pm kick-off).
