Rams Team News

Defender Ryan Nyambe joined the Rams on a contract until January earlier this week and he could feature in the matchday squad after training with the squad over the last few days.

Midfielder Liam Thompson (quad) is progressing well from the injury he sustained in training last month but is still a number of weeks away from returning to training.

Midfielder Max Bird (ankle) is in line to return to training next week after a month out of action and will miss out once again.

Wing-back Joe Ward (heel) also remains on the sidelines but he is also making steady progress in his rehabilitation work and should resume training next month.

Striker Tyreece John-Jules (quad) is facing up to four weeks on the sidelines after picking up an injury in training last week.

Captain Conor Hourihane (hamstring) is still recovering from the injury he picked up in the 1-1 draw with Portsmouth last weekend although it is not as serious as first feared.

Defender Jake Rooney (knee) is due to undergo surgery on his damaged ACL in the coming days and is set to be out of action for a lengthy period of time.

Pre-Match Thoughts

Head Coach Paul Warne spoke to RamsTV to preview Saturday's long trip to Carlisle.

He said: "Our away performances have been good up to now and the way results have gone this week with Portsmouth beating Barnsley, they've gone top of the league and we were seconds away from beating them last weekend.

"I don't feel like we are far off, we just need to get a run together and hopefully that starts this Saturday at Carlisle."

Forward Tom Barkhuizen scored the first goal in the 2-0 EFL Trophy victory over Lincoln in midweek following his return from injury and spoke to RamsTV ahead of Saturday's fixture.

He said: "Winning breeds confidence and unfortunately we've not quite backed up wins we've had this season with more wins, so we've not quite got into the swing of back-to-back just yet.

"With what we've got in the dressing room here, there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to string four or five wins together and that is what we're wanting to do."

Derby's allocation of tickets for Saturday's match have sold out.
