The versatile attacking midfielder linked up with John Eustace’s squad as a free agent, after having the strongest campaign of his career when he won promotion from Bundesliga 2 with SC Paderborn last season.
It will be the first time he has left German football, having played in his home country Bilbija scored 17 goals in all competitions, including the goal that secured his side’s rise to the top-flight of German football, and he will look to bolster the Rams’ attack, having signed a three-year deal with the club.
He spoke to RamsTV after completing his move.
Derby contacted my agent in January during the season – my focus was on Paderborn – but after the season, we got in touch, and I saw the city of Derby, the whole training ground, and the stadium. And after that, I decided to come here.
It is a big club; the players are very nice, and I'm very happy to be here.
It is a different kind of football, and I want to play a lot and start a new chapter of my life. I want to see how it goes with the family there, and how I can improve and grow my football, too.

Last season I played in all the positions in the middle third of the pitch; as a six, eight, winger and striker. I like to score goals, but most of all I love to win.

I feel confident. I’m excited to celebrate with the team and with the fans, so hopefully, I can bring energy to help the team be better.
