The primary aim of the Talent ID Programme is to provide as many opportunities as possible for young players. Alongside this, Derby County Football Club is equally committed to developing its staff, creating clear pathways for progression for those who consistently demonstrate the attitude, ability, and commitment required to succeed within a professional football environment.
As a result, a number of coaches who began their journey within the Talent ID Programme have progressed into full-time and part-time roles with the Club, contributing across the Pre-Academy and Foundation Phase.
Corey Taylor
Corey worked as a coach within the Talent ID Programme for over 18 months before being offered a role within the Pre-Academy. He now works predominantly with the Under-7 and Under-8 age groups, while also providing support across the Foundation Phase when required.
Christy Feely

This is an exciting new initiative for the Club, and Ed’s progression reflects both his development within the programme and the opportunities it continues to provide.
Miguel De Souza
Miguel initially joined the programme as a coach at our Tamworth Centre. He has since progressed into a coaching role within the Q3/Q4 programme, further demonstrating the clear pathway available for coaches who show consistency, commitment, and a strong work ethic.
