Northern Ireland striker Conor Washington joined the Rams in the summer 2023 from Championship outfit Rotherham United.

The experienced frontman signed a two-year deal to link back up with Head Coach Paul Warne who he’d played under briefly during his time with the Millers.

Starting his career with St Ives Town, Washington earned his break in professional football when he signed for Newport County after being spotted by then manager, the late Justin Edinburgh.

After two years in Wales, he made the move to Peterborough United in January 2014 and instantly began to make a name for himself with the Posh.

He averaged more than a goal every three games, netting 32 across 94 appearances whilst also chipping in with 11 assists and earned a move to Queens Park Rangers, who had just been relegated from the Premier League.

Washington made 98 appearances for the Rs, more than any other club in his career before joining fellow Championship club Sheffield United.

After just one season with the Blades, he moved north of the border and signed a two-year contract with Scottish Premier League side, Hearts.

He again spent just one season there before returning to England and Sky Bet League One with Charlton Athletic.

He had a successful two years with the Addicks, scoring 22 times in 76 appearances despite playing out of position on numerous occasions.

Following the expiry of his contract with Charlton, he signed for Warne at newly promoted Championship side Rotherham United.

He scored six goals for the Millers before linking back up with Warne ahead of the 2023/24 season at Pride Park Stadium.

On the international stage, he joined Derby having made 31 appearances for Northern Ireland and scored five goals.
