Defender Luke Banks became a permanent part of the Derby County Under-21s squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Banks has been with the Rams since joining as an Under-9s player and has shown his quality by progressing right through the ranks. He is one of a number of players to have been with the Academy for several years.

The move up to the Under-21 squad followed an impressive 2024/25 campaign that saw him pick up the club’s Scholar of the Season award. Banks featured 12 times in the Under-18 Premier League and three times in the FA Youth Cup for the Under-18s.

He joined the Derby County Under-18s squad as a first-year scholar in the summer of 2023.

He made four appearances for the Under-18s during the 2022/23 season whilst still a schoolboy before linking up with the group on a full-time basis ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. Throughout the 2023/24 season, Banks made 15 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice.
