Midfielder Owen Eames joined Derby County Under-18s as a first-year scholar in the summer of 2023 before penning professional terms in 2025.
Born in Swadlincote, Eames is a central midfielder who likes to play a more advanced role.
He has been with the Rams since Under-9s and progressed right through the ranks, making seven appearances and scoring once for the Under-18s in the 2022/23 season.
Eames was a constant in the young Rams midfield throughout 2023/24, appearing 23 times in total across the season.
He went on to impress in the 2024/25 campaign, getting ten goals and eight assists from 19 league games for the Under-18s. He also stepped up to get regular minutes for the Under-21s in Premier League 2 and featured as an unused substitute for the first team.
After being heavily involved with first team training and featuring in matchday squads throughout the opening stages of the 2025/26 season, Eames made his first team debut in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round in January 2026.
The midfielder made a substitute cameo against Premier League side Leeds United at Pride Park Stadium.
Eames then committed his long-term future to the club after penning a new three-and-a-half-year contract later that month, and went on to make his Sky Bet Championship debut for the Rams in a 5-0 win at Ashton Gate.
He played an additional three league matches in the second half of the campaign, coming off the bench against Ipswich Town, Southampton and Norwich City.
