Derby County’s Under-18s claimed their first win over the 2023/24 Premier League - North campaign with a thrilling 5-3 success over Newcastle United at Moor Farm.

After picking up a 1-1 draw on the road at Sunderland in their season-opener, the Rams followed that result up with three points on home turf.

Derby were three goals to the good inside half an hour thanks to strikes from Jayden Davidson, Farren Simons and Lennon Wheeldon.

A fourth followed from Billy Gough early in the second half before Sean Neave got a goal back moments later.

Wheeldon added his second and Derby’s fifth on the hour and, despite Joe Brayson and Darren Palmer pulling goals back late on, the Rams were full value for their win.
