Derby goalkeeper joins League 1 outfit.

Derby County goalkeeper Ross Atkins has joined League 1 side Crawley Town on a 28-day loan deal.

Atkins spent the first half of the season on loan at Conference outfit Alfreton Town, where he made 26 appearances in all competitions before returning to the iPro Stadium.

Crawley, who are managed by former Derby player and manager John Gregory, are 15th in the table and the 24-year-old will go straight into their squad for tomorrow’s home game with Stevenage.

Atkins is a graduate of Derby County's Academy and he made his first-team debut for the Rams on the final day of the 2010/11 season in a 2-1 defeat to Reading at the Madejski Stadium.

He has also enjoyed loan spells at Southport, Kidderminster Harriers and Tamworth in recent years, as well as three separate loan stints at Burton during 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13 prior to moving at Alfreton at the start of the campaign.
