International honours for Derby's youngsters - with Academy product Thomas on target.

Three players on the books at Derby County gained international honours for England at youth international level on Friday evening.

Midfielder Will Hughes was capped once again by England Under 21s, while on-loan Liverpool attacker Jordon Ibe and forward Kwame Thomas featured for England Under 20s.

Hughes, 19, came off the bench for the final 11 minutes as Gareth Southgate’s side defeated Lithuania 1-0 in their European Championship qualifier to gain his eighth cap at Under 21 level.

The Three Lions have secured top spot in their qualification group and will compete in the play-offs to reach next year's finals, once they have played their final group game in Moldova on Tuesday.

Ibe was named in the starting XI by England Under 20 boss Aidy Boothroyd for their clash with Romania at AFC Telford, with first-year professional Thomas earning himself a place on the bench.

After a goalless first half, England went goal crazy in the second 45 to record a 6-0 win with Thomas coming off the bench to score their fifth.

He was introduced into the action at the midway point of the second half, with Ibe one of a number of players to be substituted.
