Derby County defender Cyrus Christie has today joined fellow Sky Bet Championship rivals Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee.

The full back, 24, has finalised all of the formalities of his move to the Riverside Stadium after being given permission to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical on Teesside earlier today.

The move brings the curtain down on Christie’s three-year stay at Pride Park Stadium.

The Republic of Ireland international joined Derby from Coventry City in the summer of 2014 and made 119 appearances, scoring two goals in the process.

As well as helping the Rams achieve a play-off finish at the end of the 2015/16 campaign, Christie was also named as the club’s Sammy Crooks Young Player of the Year.

Derby County would like to wish Cyrus every success with his future career and also thank him for his contribution during his time with the Rams.
