A new match date has been confirmed for Derby County’s Carabao Cup First Round tie at Grimsby Town.

Last night’s game against the Mariners was abandoned after just 19 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch at Blundell Park.

Heavy rain in the Cleethorpes area left the playing surface unplayable as the heavy downpour showed no indication of easing off.

Derby were leading 1-0 at the time following an early goal from skipper Richard Keogh.

Following discussions between both clubs and the EFL this morning, the game will be played on Tuesday 22nd August 2017, kick-off 7:45pm.

Information regarding match tickets will be confirmed in due course and communicated to supporters on dcfc.co.uk.
