Kevin Friend will be the man in the middle when Derby County travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the Emirates FA Cup third-round on Friday evening, kick-off: 8pm.


Friend has officiated 17 games so far this term, mainly in the Premier League. from which he has produced 40 yellow and one red cards.

This will be the first time that he has officiated a Rams since the beginning of the 2014/15 campaign when he was in charge for Derby’s 1-0 opening day win over Rotherham United.

In total, Friday night’s referee has been in the man in the middle for five of the Rams’ matches – in which they have won two, drawn two and lost just once.

Friend will be assisted by Marc Perry and Adrian Holmes on the lines, whilst Jonathan Moss has been appointed as the fourth official.
