Rammie will be putting all his hard training in action on Sunday as he lines up for the Derby 10K in support of the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Derby County mascot’s efforts will be in aid of Derby-based charity Alzheimer Society, which was revealed as the club’s official charity partner for the next two years at the beginning of the season.

The money Rammie raises will go towards finding a cure for dementia, an illness that affects 14,000 people in Derbyshire, including 3,000 in Derby. Across East Midlands there are more than 60,000 people with dementia – a number that would almost fill Pride Park Stadium twice over.

The home of the Rams will serve as the backdrop to the start and finish line for the run that will hit the landmarks and monuments of Derby city centre.

More than 5,000 people will line up next to Rammie at 8:45am to await the beginning of the race.
