Derby County Ladies were crowned as the FA WPL Club of the Year last night during the 20th edition of the annual FA Women’s football awards evening.

It is the second time in three years the Ewe Rams have lifted the award after also winning the same title at the end of the 2015/16 campaign.
The 20th edition of the annual awards ceremony, held at the Brewery, London, celebrated the very best of women’s football including grassroots, domestic and international football.
Speaking on the outstanding achievement, Duncan Gibbs, Derby Ladies’ CEO, said: “We are delighted to have won the FA Women's Premier League Club of the Year for the second time in three seasons and it shows the hard work that the club is putting in place for many years to come.
"It's always nice to get recognised as a club moving forward and we'd like to thank everyone involved at the club, from the players, volunteers, coaches, parents and fans. They are essential to our club and we couldn't do it without them.
"We have had a fantastic year having won both the 'Club of the Year' at the local and regional level and this has capped off another great season for the club.
“It was great to see us nominated for the FA Participation Project too for our Schools Festival and once again our Academy Director Dave Cholerton was nominated for Outstanding Contribution to Women's Football.
"Though we missed out on a place in the new FA Women's Championship, we are already working very hard to put a team together on the pitch to get their as soon as possible and the foundations are in place for us to build over the next year both on and off the pitch."
