Derby County will kick-off the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship season in front of the Sky Sports cameras with an away trip to Reading in what will be Frank Lampard’s first competitive game as a manager.

The Rams will travel to the Madejski Stadium on Friday 3rd August, kick-off: 8pm.

The meeting will see Lampard pit his wits against former Derby boss Paul Clement – a man he also knows well from the time they spent together at Chelsea between 2009 and 2011.

Beyond that, Derby’s first home game of the season will also be a tasty affair as they take on their old rivals Leeds United eight days later on Saturday 11th August.

When Do We Face Nottingham Forest?

As has been the case the last two years, the Rams will face Nottingham Forest at home first.

Lampard will get his first taste of the East Midlands derby just before Christmas when they host Aitor Karanka’s side on Saturday 15th December.

Derby travel to the City Ground on Saturday 23rd February.

Who Do We Face Over The Festive Period?

The Rams’ final match before Christmas will see Bristol City head to Pride Park Stadium on Saturday 22nd December.

Two away matches follow that. Lampard’s side will make the short trip to Bramall Lane on Boxing Day to face Sheffield United, before hitting the road again for one of their longest trips of the upcoming campaign a few days later, travelling to Norwich City on Saturday 29th December.

Derby will then open 2019 back on home soil against Middlesbrough.

Who Do We Face On The Final Day Of The Season?

There is a long way to go until May, of course, but the Rams will finish at Pride Park Stadium – as was the case last season.

Darren Moore’s West Bromwich Albion, relegated from the Premier League last term, will be the visitors on Sunday 5th May.
