Tomori Awarded Oldham Goal

Derby County’s on-loan Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has been credited with the Rams’ opening goal in Tuesday’s 2-0 Carabao Cup First Round victory at Oldham Athletic.

Tomori was on hand to turn home Harry Wilson’s free-kick from close range after 36 minutes at Boundary Park to set Frank Lampard’s side on their way to victory.

However, several media outlets reported the goal as an own goal by Oldham’s Sam Graham.

Derby have been in contact with the EFL since the conclusion of the game and the Dubious Goals Committee have ruled that the goal should be credited to Tomori.

As a result, the goal is 20-year-old Tomori’s first in professional football.
