Derby County return their focus to the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday when they face Bolton Wanderers and look to earn a third consecutive victory.

Frank Lampard’s side travel to University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday (kick-off: 3pm) following an impressive 3-1 win over Brentford and a thrilling Carabao Cup victory over Manchester United and here, dcfc.co.uk have gathered all the information you need ahead of the clash with Phil Parkinson’s side.

TEAM NEWS…

Tom Lawrence will be available for the match after completing a three-match ban for the red card he was shown against Rotherham.

Curtis Davies, who has been out with a hamstring since the opening game of the season, is back training with the squad but it will be too early for him to feature on Saturday. George Evans will also miss the game with the knee injury he sustained against Ipswich Town, but Lampard said he is close to his return to training.

WHAT THE BOSS HAD TO SAY…

Frank Lampard told RamsTV: “I’ve quickly realised in the Championship that the form of the other team means absolutely nothing. You can try and read into form and results but when you come up against teams like Bolton, Rotherham, Millwall, those teams will give you a hard game.

“Bolton have started very well but the focus has to be on us. The way we have played in two games recently, the focus is on us to reproduce that.”

He added: “We need to remember the basics that got us the result on Tuesday and that got us the result against Brentford, which is hard-work, team-work, team-effort and quality. The players need to take that forward.

“I loved the way we played the other night and the personality of everyone involved but we need to fight against being over-confident. So that’s the message, take it in a good way, but we must start bringing that game-in, game-out.”

Derby County 3-0 Bolton Wanderers

Derby County last faced Bolton Wanderers in the closing stages of last season as the Rams were looking to book their place in the play-offs. A 3-0 win at Pride Park Stadium over Bolton certainly helped their case.

Alex Pearce opened the scoring for the Rams when he headed home Joe Ledley’s corner. Matej Vydra then doubled the lead when he scored his 20th goal of the season when he rolled the ball into an empty net after Ben Alnwick had denied David Nugent.

Tom Lawrence sealed the three points with a 30-yard shot that he fired into the corner after the break.

Derby County: Carson; Wisdom, Pearce, Davies, Baird; Ledley, Huddlestone; Weimann, Vydra (Palmer, 69), Lawrence (Thomas, 85); Nugent (Jerome, 69)

Unused Subs: Forsyth, Keogh, Roos, Hanson

Bolton Wanderers: Alnwick; Little, Burke (Noone, 45), Wheater, Beevers, Robinson; Vela, Henry (Derik, 75), Karacan; le Fondre, Wilbraham (Ameobi, 45)

WHO’S THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE…

Scott Duncan will be the man in the middle when Derby take on Bolton on Saturday. He has taken charge of nine fixtures so far this term, producing 28 yellow cards and two red.

One of those fixtures involved the Rams, when they defeated Ipswich Town 2-0 at Pride Park.

Duncan will be assisted by Michael George and Mark Dwyer on the lines, whilst Matthew Donohue has been appointed as the fourth official.
