Loughborough University Stadium will host a number of Derby County Under-23s’ home games during the 2018/19 season.

Darren Wassall’s side have played a selection of their home fixtures at St. George’s Park over the past two seasons, in addition to playing matches at Pride Park Stadium and the Training Centre.

However, an agreement is now in place with Loughborough University to use their facilities for the vast majority of Under-23s home games for the current campaign.

The Under-23s will play at least 12 fixtures a year at the Loughborough University Stadium over the next three seasons, which will allow students to watch more high-quality football on campus.

Loughborough University Stadium was recently one of the hosts of the Under-17 European Championships that featured Under-18s midfielder Jason Knight for Republic of Ireland. The stadium, which opened in 2012, can accommodate crowds of up to 3,500 people with seating for 300.

“Having such high quality football in our stadium on a regular basis will be great for our students, whilst the other benefits the partnership will offer will be a massive asset to the University.”
