Kyle McAllister has been named in Scotland Under-21s squad for their upcoming friendly matches against Mexico and Sweden.

Derby County Under-23s’ wideman, currently on loan at Scottish Premierside side St. Mirren, will travel to Spain for his maiden call up in the Under-21s side where Scotland are set to face Mexico on Friday 22nd March and Sweden on Monday 25th March.

The 20-year-old made 16 appearances in Darren Wassall’s side this season, scoring once and providing three assists, before heading to his former club on loan where he has scored two goals in three starts.

McAllister joined Derby from St Mirren for an undisclosed fee in January 2017 but has seen his progress hampered due to injuries.

The youngster has previously represented Scotland at Under-17s level, making 10 appearances.

Meanwhile, Under-23 defender Sven Karic and out-on-loan midfielder Timi Elsnik have been called up to the Slovenia Under-21 squad for their upcoming international fixtures.

The pair are in the squad to face Georgia Under-21s on Friday 22nd March (7pm kick off), whilst three days later, they will take on NK Aluminij in a friendly fixture on Monday 25th March (2pm kick off).

Karic has been in good form for the Under-23s this season, whilst Elsnik has enjoyed loan spells with Sky Bet League Two sides Mansfield Town and Northampton Town this term.
