Jason Knight’s impressive start to the 2019/20 season has continued after he was named in the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for their upcoming 2021 UEFA European Championship qualifiers.

The 18-year-old made his professional debut against Huddersfield Town on the opening weekend, before his first start against Scunthorpe United and his first league start against West Brom.

Now, he will link up with the Ireland Under-21 squad in September as they aim to continue their successful start to their latest qualification campaign.

They will face Armenia in Dublin on Friday 6th September and Sweden in Kalmar on Tuesday 10th September, as they bid to qualify for the finals in Hungary and Slovenia in 2021.

Knight made his bow at Under-21 level at the Toulon Tournament during the summer, before he joined up with Phillip Cocu’s first team squad for pre-season.
