Addison Nets Derby’s First Goal Of The 2009/10 Season In A Home Win Over Peterborough United

Pictured here is Miles Addison heading Derby County into the lead against Peterborough United at Pride Park Stadium in a 2-1 victory on the opening day of the 2009/10 season.

Addison's goal, after four minutes, set the tone as Nigel Clough’s side dominated the first half.

George Boyd's late penalty, after Shaun Batt had been brought down by goalkeeper Stephen Bywater, looked to have rescued a point for the Posh.

But Gary Teale sealed the points for Derby three minutes later from close range after a goalmouth scramble following a corner from Kris Commons.

Derby went on to finish 14th in the Sky Bet Championship during Clough’s first full season in charge after his appointment midway through the 2008/09 season.

Addison made 77 first-team appearances for Derby, after making his debut in the 2005/06 season, and left the club to join AFC Bournemouth on a permanent basis in the summer of 2012 following a loan spell with the Cherries.
