Bryson Scores From Distance As Derby Defeat Leeds At Elland Road

Pictured here is Craig Bryson scoring a spectacular goal in Derby County’s 2-0 victory at Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship in April 2012.

Derby punished Leeds for midfielder Michael Brown's first-half red card to record a seventh successive win against their opponents thanks to goals from midfielder Bryson and striker Steven Davies.

Minutes after Brown's first-half dismissal for a stomach-high challenge on Theo Robinson, Bryson curled a superb 25-yard effort past Leeds goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.

Derby continued to exploit their one-man advantage in a dominant display and Davies had time and space to slot home a rebound from inside the penalty area to double the lead in the second half.

Nigel Clough’s side finished the 2011/12 season in 12th place in the table and Bryson’s performances during the campaign, his first with the Rams, saw him named as the Jack Stamps Player of the Year winner.

Scottish midfielder Bryson made 276 appearances and scored 42 goals during eight years with Derby between 2011 and 2019.
