Bryson Nets His First Derby County Goal As Nigel Clough’s Side Maintain Winning Start

Pictured here is former Derby County midfielder Craig Bryson celebrating his first goal in Rams colours back in 2011.

Bryson, signed from Scottish side Kilmarnock in the summer of 2011, scored from close range as Nigel Clough’s side maintained their 100% start to the season in the Championship with a 1-0 victory over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

Derby went into the game off the back of a home win over Birmingham City and an away day triumph at Watford in their opening two fixtures of the league campaign.

The midfielder struck on 69 minutes after Seasiders goalkeeper Matthew Gilks could only push a Steven Davies free-kick into his path.

Derby finished the 2011/12 season in 12th place in the table and Bryson’s performances during the campaign saw him named as the Jack Stamps Player of the Year winner.

Bryson made 276 appearances and scored 42 goals during eight years with Derby between 2011 and 2019.
