Wayne Rooney has made two changes to the side which was beaten 1-0 by Preston North End at Pride Park Stadium on Boxing Day for this evening’s Sky Bet Championship clash against Birmingham City (5:30pm kick-off).

One change is enforced as Martyn Waghorn serves the first of his three match suspension following his sending off on Saturday.

He is replaced in the starting line up by Louie Sibley, who returns to make his first start since the 1-1 draw against Wycombe Wanderers at the end of November.

There is also a change at left back as Lee Buchanan moves to the bench in place of Craig Forsyth.

Under-23s midfielder Louie Watson retains his place amongst the substitutes, whilst there is also a place on the bench for 16-year-old Academy player Kaide Gordon.

The young forward was named the Academy Player of the Season for the 2019/20 campaign back in July of this year.
