Brian Clough was appointed as Derby County’s manager on this day (1st June) back in 1967, 54 years ago. Under his guidance the Rams returned to the top-flight as Second Division champions in 1969 and went on to win the First Division title in 1971/72, as well as embarking on the club’s first European campaign in the following year.
