Derby County’s Under-23s and Under-18s squads have added to their ranks ahead of the start of their respective 2021/22 seasons in the coming days.

Pat Lyons’ Under-23s will start their Premier League 2 - Division 1 campaign next Monday at Pride Park Stadium against Brighton & Hove Albion (7pm kick-off).

In addition, Adam Robinson’s Under-18s will get their Under-18 Premier League North campaign started on Saturday with a trip to Middlesbrough (12:30pm kick-off).

Goalkeeper Harrison Foulkes, who is 20, spent pre-season training with the Rams and impressed between the posts in a number of the Under-23s’ friendly fixtures.

He has signed a one-year contract to join the Under-23s on a permanent basis.

The shot-stopper was previously on the books of Hull City, who he played for at both Under-18 and Under-23 level, and he also enjoyed time on loan at non-league side Pickering Town to gain experience.

Left-sider Carlos Richards, 16, was part of Chelsea’s youth set-up before leaving the Blues in the summer of 2020.

He also spent some time with West Ham United, prior to linking up with Derby’s Under-18s on trial over the course of pre-season.

He has signed a two-year scholarship and is the latest fresh face in the squad after the Rams added 11 new first-year scholars during the summer.
