Derby County Under-18s midfielder Cian Kelly-Caprani continued his impressive start to the 2021/22 season on Thursday.


The youngster was on target for the Republic of Ireland’s Under-18s as they drew 2-2 against Hungary in an international friendly in Budapest

Kelly-Caprani scored a late penalty to earn Ireland a share of the spoils against the hosts, with Southampton’s Luke Pearce also scoring for the Boys in Green.

The game was the second of two international friendly games between the two countries this week in the Hungarian capital.

Kelly-Caprani was also on target when the sides met on Tuesday, with Ireland running out 2-0 winners.

In addition, he also scored as the Rams’ Under-18s started their 2021/22 Premier League - North season with a 3-0 victory at Middlesbrough last weekend.

Kelly-Caprani is currently in the second year of his scholarship in Derby’s Academy after joining from Bohemian Football Club in Ireland in the summer of 2020.

As a first-year scholar, he 12 appearances for the Under-18s, five of which were starts, playing in midfield roles or right wing.
