TEAM NEWS…

Striker Sam Baldock is set to miss out once again with a broken nose which he sustained in the first half of last weekend’s 0-0 draw at Preston North End, so skipper Tom Lawrence could once again perform in a more central attacking role.

Defender Craig Forsyth has missed the Rams’ last two matches due to illness and he will continue to have his fitness assessed to determine as to if he will feature against the Sky Blues.

Colin Kazim-Richards, is set to feature on the bench once again after returning to the matchday squad as a substitute for the recent matches against Preston North End and Luton Town. The striker suffered achilles injury at Peterborough United in August but needs to build up his sharpness before being considered to start.

Polish international midfielder Krystian Bielik, who suffered an ACL knee injury in January of this year, is making good progress in his rehabilitation work but is still not yet in a position to return to full training.

ASSISTANT MANAGER'S THOUGHTS…

Assistant Manager Liam Rosenior offered his pre-match views to RamsTV on Thursday afternoon and he said: “It’s always better to be frustrated when you’re still unbeaten.

"I think goes to show and all credit to the players because I think the performances have warranted more than the points we’ve picked up.

“We know our performance levels are right up there in terms of this league, but we just need to convert our chances and keep the back door shut.

“It’s a huge game on Saturday for the momentum of the season. If we win then we keep that unbeaten run going.

“Then those points become fantastic points because we get three points on Saturday and that’s what we’ll be looking to do - win the game.”

PLAYER THOUGHTS…

Defender Lee Buchanan spoke to RamsTV after training on Thursday.

The full-back said: “It’s difficult the situation we are in (with Derby bottom of the table after being deducted 12 points for entering administration) but as a group of lads we believe we can move up the table.

“With the performances we are putting in, it is frustrating because we are not getting the results we would like at the minute but hopefully it will come, starting on Saturday.”

He added: “I think we have had a good start. I don’t think you reflect on it too much when you have games coming thick and fast but with the current situation that we are in, we are playing well and hopefully the wins will start coming.”

MATCH OFFICIALS…

Dean Whitestone will oversee Saturday's game against the Sky Blues.

Whitestone has overseen ten games so far this season in all competitions, showing 31 yellow cards and one red in the process.

He took charge of the Rams' 1-0 win at Hull City earlier this season as Sam Baldock scored on his debut to hand Wayne Rooney's side all three points.

Whitestone will be assisted by Robert Hyde and Nik Barnard on the lines, whilst David Webb has been appointed as the fourth official.

EFL SUBSTITUTE RULES…

The five substitutions rule has been scrapped for the 2021/22 season, the English Football League confirmed in July.

The rule allowing clubs to make five changes, as opposed to the usual three, was brought in following football's restart in June 2020 after a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Given that games had to be condensed into a short period of time it was thought beneficial and allowed managers to make as many as five changes in three intervals during a match.

Clubs had a longer post-break between seasons this time around and so the temporary rule has been changed.

Teams will be able to name seven substitutes but only use a maximum of three.

STREAMING INFORMATION…

With COVID-19 capacity restrictions lifted and EFL fixtures being played in front of full crowds once again, the temporary change in streaming rules is no longer valid.
