Defender Richard Stearman has agreed a new contract with Derby County.

The 34-year-old, who joined the Rams as a free agent last summer, has penned a new one-year deal until the summer of 2023.

Stearman played 15 times during the 2021/22 season for the Rams and offered significant know-how both on and off the field during a challenging campaign.

He made 11 starts in all competitions as the Rams fought against the odds to remain in the Championship, while he also made a further four appearances off the bench.

Stearman has over 500 career appearances to his name after representing Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ipswich Town, Fulham, Sheffield United and Huddersfield Town prior to joining Derby.

He was also part of the Sheffield United side that was promoted to the Premier League in 2018/19 and represented England at various youth international levels.
