Interim Manager Liam Rosenior has named Derby County’s line-up for this afternoon’s pre-season friendly against Premier League side Leicester City at Pride Park Stadium (1pm kick-off).

Derby’s penultimate friendly of the summer will see them take on top-flight opposition in the form of the Foxes with the 2022/23 League One season-opener against Oxford United now only a week away.

Recent addition Korey Smith will make his first appearance in a Derby shirt after joining as a free agent last weekend in what is a strong and experienced starting XI.

Striker David McGoldrick misses out once more with a minor niggle, while Poland international midfielder Krystian Bielik is not yet in full training as he continues to build up his fitness.

Leicester, meanwhile, are playing two friendlies today – with another game planned at Championship side Preston North End – so they have split their squad across the two warm-up games

Foxes assistant manager Chris Davies will oversee proceedings at Pride Park with Denmark international defender Jannik Vestergaard, Belgium midfield duo Dennis Praet and Youri Tielemans and Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho amongst their ranks.
