Derby County Community Trust have announced that entries for 2023’s Derby 10K - their biggest fundraiser and the city’s largest mass participation event - are now open.

Next year’s event will take place on Sunday 23rd March 2023.

Starting and finishing at the Rams’ Pride Park Stadium home, the event has taken place since 2002, raising thousands of pounds each year for the Community Trust’s range of vital projects, supporting communities across the county.

Sponsored by local sports apparel brand HUUB Design, all entries come with an exclusive technical t-shirt, along with finishers’ medal and discounts.

The race returns to its usual annual springtime slot, following back-to-back events in October 2021 and April 2022 after COVID-19 pandemic restrictions were lifted. Over 4,000 runners took to the streets in that timeframe, cementing the race as the city’s largest running event.

Emma Pilgrim, Events and Projects Manager at the Community Trust, said: “As ever, we are thrilled to open entries to our runners, as we encourage participations and activity within our community. Our race is designed to welcome everyone from first-time racers through to seasoned professionals, and we look forward to welcoming thousands of runners in March.”

A fun run, sponsored by Motorpoint Derby, also takes place following the main race, where children are invited to run for their own medals and soak in the race day atmosphere.

Entries go on sale this morning (Monday 26th September) from 9am, starting at £25. For the next 24 hours (until 9am on Tuesday 27th September) entries are available with £5 off, using the code 10K2023.

Organisers at the Community Trust have also introduced a new VIP running option, after a popular trial in April. This entry type guarantees runners pre and post refreshments and indoor facilities, along with dedicated baggage storage inside Pride Park Stadium.

All proceeds raised by the event are directly invested into the Community Trust’s many projects, including brand new programmes designed to support women going through the menopause, and those living with the consequences of long Covid.
