Derby County midfielder Louie Sibley was delighted to grab the goal and assist that helped the Rams run out eventual winners at Newport County on Sunday afternoon in the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Paul Warne's side fell behind just before the break but Sibley inspired a second-half comeback and ensured the Rams were in the hat for the Third Round on Monday evening.

Sibley equalised after half-time before he set up David McGoldrick's late winner at Rodney Parade.

Speaking to RamsTV after the cup tie, the 21-year-old, who has been filling in at wing-back of late, gave his verdict on the performance.

On the game...

It was a great cup tie in the end. We know the first-half wasn't good enough and we came in at half-time and made sure that we put things right.

On the half-time message...

It was slow and predictable in the first half and when we got on the ball we just couldn't break them down.

Sometimes people think you can come to teams in a lower league and walk over them but you can't. Newport are a good team.

The boss knew what we had to change and that's what he did. He left it up to us in the second-half to prove that we are good enough and we did that.

On his second-half performance...

It was a lot better from me. There was more space. The change in formation helped and I'm delighted to get a goal and, because I've been playing left-wing-back, I've been working on crosses all week with my final ball not being good enough - and I was happy to set Didzy up his goal.

On the team's belief...

At half-time we knew we could change things in the second-half and as soon as we got that first goal, we knew we'd get that second.

These places are tough to come to but we showed character and dug deep.

Everyone wants an upset but it was great character from the lads and it adds another match to our unbeaten run.

On the nine match unbeaten run...

All the lads are clicking together. When it is tough at times, we don't come at each other we all stick together. The most important thing is winning games.

On the return to Pride Park next week...

We're really looking forward to facing Sheffield Wednesday. It's a big game but we approach it the same as we did today. We're professional, we work hard in training and hopefully we can keep getting more wins on the board.

On the fans...

There's been so many away games this month, but we really appreciate the fans and all the miles they do up and down the country.

It was great to get the result for them, the away support has been amazing so a massive thank you goes out to them.
