Derby County defender Craig Forsyth believes the team not making the most of their first half dominance ultimately cost them in the 2-0 defeat to Peterborough United.

The Rams were well on top throughout the first 45 minutes but second half goals from Ephron Mason-Clark and Nathanel Ogbeta ultimately saw the Posh come away with all three points from the Sky Bet League One outing.

Speaking to RamsTV after the game, Forsyth gave his verdict on the performance.

On the performance...

I think in the first half we were on top without really testing their goalkeeper too much and it's something we've talked about before - killing teams off - and we didn't do it again today and ultimately it's come back to bite us on the backside.

On the first half performance...

I think the reaction we showed to last week’s defeat to Fleetwood was good. We came out in the first half and limited them to virtually nothing but we didn't take our chances and it's come back to bite us.

On what changed in the second half...

They changed their formation and tested us a little bit more and it became a bit more open. In the first half we kept them in their half and didn't let them out. In the second half it became a little bit more open and stretched and the first goal certainly was where that came from.

On not getting too down about the defeat...

We're still in the play-off spots but as the staff always say, we don't want to lose back-to-back games. Next week against Ipswich Town is massive at Pride Park. We're back at home and they'll come and want to try and play their game so we've got to make sure we give them something to think about as well.

It's important we get back to work on the training ground. This week was a good week's training but we've got nothing to show for it so we need to make sure that this week we do both parts of it and get something against Ipswich.
