Post-Match Verdict: Craig Forsyth Vs Shrewsbury Town (H)

Derby County defender Craig Forsyth believes it was a case of 'two points dropped' for the Rams as they drew 2-2 with Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

Paul Warne's men had taken a two goal lead in the first half thanks to strikes from Haydon Roberts and David McGoldrick, but the visitors fought back in the second and were able to ensure the points were shared at Pride Park Stadium.

Speaking to RamsTV after the Sky Bet League One match, Forsyth, who began his time with Derby ten years ago today after signing on loan from Watford, gave his verdict on the performance.

On the game...

It was two points dropped. We were so comfortable in the first half and created a lot of chances. We could have scored a few more and didn't really let them into the game but the second half was completely different. We didn't start properly, I should just put my foot through the ball in the lead-up to the foul for their first goal. The free-kick went straight through the wall and it gave them the momentum and lift they were after.

For 10 or 15 minutes we were under the cosh and then they got a penalty and it was 2-2. They were happy to go back and sit in so ultimately it was two points dropped.

On the 15 minute spell after half-time...

Coming out from half-time we knew there would be a reaction from them and they changed shape but it still shouldn't detract from us being at home and being able to control the game and we didn't do that. It got away from us.

On the goals scored...

We got two great goals and we could have had a couple more; maybe but we didn't push on from half-time and the start wasn't good enough. That's what cost us.

On it being a missed opportunity...

The changing room is down but we've got another big one on Tuesday at Plymouth, so we've got to get ourselves up, recover and go again on Tuesday.

On 10 years at Derby County...

It would have been a lot better if we'd won and got three points but it's probably something that tonight I can sit back and realise what an achievement it's been but just now it's disappointment about the game.

Tonight or tomorrow I'll probably be able to sit down and it will definitely be something I'm proud of.
