Derby County Women's defender Sarah Jackson says the team 'put everything in' during their 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest Women on Sunday afternoon.

The Ewe Rams came out on the wrong side of the scoreline in front of a record crowd of 5,243 at Pride Park Stadium, but Jackson says it wasn't for the want of trying against the table-topping Reds.

Speaking to RamsTV after the game, the defender gave her verdict on the performance.

On the performance...

It's a hard one to take. You never want to lose in a local derby game and we've got a lot of girls from Derby and it meant a lot to them. You can't fault anyone, the girls put everything in and played with heart and desire and that's all we ask for.

On the game itself...

It was quite open at times. In the first 15 minutes we could have been 2-0 up but they equally had just as many chances. It was tough because it was quite end-to-end but when we went 1-0 down it was always an uphill battle.

On the attendance...

It was great to have the fans down. You could hear them throughout and that's what's special about these occasions. The amount of girls that were asking for signatures afterwards - that's what it's all about. It's for the next generation to come through. Hopefully a lot of those young girls that came down here today and are hoping they can get in a Derby shirt one day can experience it themselves.

On moving forward after two defeats, following a six-game winning run...

We've had two hard games against two teams that are going for the title in Burnley and Forest. We're building, we've got a young squad and we know where we are.

We've achieved what we need to achieve this season, but there's no doubt that we go into Brighouse at home next week looking to bounce back. We've got to prove why we are where we are, sitting fourth in the table, and why we're ahead of that middle pack.
