Goalkeeper Josh Vickers makes his first start for the Rams in the sticks with Joe Wildsmith on the bench.
Right-sider Joe Ward returns from a minor groin injury to start at wing-back and Conor Hourihane captains the side once more.
None of Tom Barkhuizen, Kane Wilson, Louie Sibley, Conor Washington, Callum Elder or Korey Smith are involved after missing training recently, while Academy players Daniel Cox, Keilen Robinson, Jaydan Davidson and Callum Moore have joined the matchday squad on the bench alongside Under-21s player-coach Bradley Johnson.
