Forward Tom Barkhuizen missed most of pre-season after injuring his calf in the opening friendly fixture against Matlock Town last month. He has picked up a further niggle after returning to training and willl miss out against the Seasiders.

Attacking midfielder Louie Sibley did not feature in the Rams' pre-season games campaign owing to a calf problem and, despite being close to a return to training, he will again miss out.

Striker Martyn Waghorn is in line to feature after joining the club on a one-year deal on Monday. He has been training with the Rams in recent weeks after leaving Coventry City and has impressed Head Coach Paul Warne enough to earn a permanent deal to seal his return to Derby after spending three seasons at Pride Park Stadium between 2018 and 2021.
